Moonlight Madness

Moonlight Madness

AF Project [Flashover Recordings]

With the release of his new artist album, ‘Twice in a Blue Moon’, Ferry Corsten admits that he is less inspired by electro music, preferring to now focus more on melody.

Releases on his Flashover label like AF Project’s ‘Moonlight Madness’ appear to reflect his change of heart.

Although Russian producer Anton Firtich’s new track is dominated by warm and floaty melodies, in true Flashover style he hasn’t forgotten about electro influences and has included an electro bassline.

The original mix is the typical trance release; dreamy, uplifting, and full of strings with a hypnotising breakdown that conjures up the types of soaring seascape VJ images Ferry often uses in his sets.

Unlike UK trance producer Temple One, Sergey Shemet has worked hard to create a remix that sounds completely different to the original.

His darker, more driving – if slightly repetitive – interpretation of the track would work much better on the dancefloor of a late night set, and is the more inspiring mix.
