Moodymann: Have U Ever Been Lonely

Moodymann quietly released a video this month for the unreleased track “I Guess U Never Been Lonely” featuring Junior Boys.

The video—and presumably the track itself—was posted in tribute to Javon Coleman aka J1 aka The Deer, drummer for Dam-Funk‘s live touring band Master-Blazter. Coleman passed away earlier this month, but in the video he can be seen in happier times, palling around with Moody himself backstage, intercut with footage of the KDJ and Mahogani Music label head on stage in Japan.

As for the track itself, which essentially reworks Junior Boys’ ”You’ll Improve Me” into an ominous deep techno number, there’s no word on whether it will be released officially, but in the meantime fans of Moodymann, The Junior Boys and the late Master-Blazter drummer can hear the arrangement in full courtesy of Moody’s YouTube page.
