Berns Salonger, Stockholm

After a few days break following the UK tour, we left Germany again, this time heading for Stockholm, the home base of the Swedish House Mafia. The officials at customs looked at my luggage, and rather than ask me for my passport, they asked me for my style of music!

In a city full of beautiful people and sunny skies my phone didn’t stop ringing. Stephan from Sebastien Ingrosso’s Refune label revealed that it was a Swedish tradition that the best deals are made at a bar. So true.

Back at the venue, a little soundsystem set up in the park played music for the people standing in the queue in front of the club. A good way to start the night.

The venue Berns Salonger is a legendary place. With such an incredibly warm atmosphere, and a nice setting, another legend, Tiesto, came to visit the show.

He lives nearby as he moved to Stockholm this spring, he told me after my set.

Vega, Copenhagen, Denmark

I seem to be getting used to the daily hangovers on this European tour, you really meet too many people in too many places.

After a shaken not stirred flight, we went directly to the city center to catch some fresh air. Between the shops and bars was Copenhagen’s famous Tivoli venue, a really impressive spot.

Backstage I got to know Gavyn Mitchel, promoter and resident of The Gallery in London, and Nicka, who played the warm-up that evening. Gavyn and Nicka were also booked for an aftershow party at RUST.

After some beers and nice conversation, we went to the club. If you ever visit Copenhagen, I really can’t recommend this club enough. From the front, you would never guess the club monster that lies in wait.

During the night I kept misspelling the name of the club, until someone told me that the name originates from the German hedge hopper Matthias Rust, who landed his aircraft on Moscow’s Red Square by accident in the late 80s.

I think I have to ask him how much it would cost to fly me from Recklinghausen to Copenhagen, because this was definitely not my last stay here.

Next stop Hamburg! My first Lyve home match!
