Interview with techno/electro king Moguai.

Was the 2007 year a successfull for you? What are u expecting from 2008?
Oh yes, 2007 was a good year! Many good events and partys, my new project “guaimo” and some MOGUAI singles! 2008 will become a very good year, too! Many projects, events and good music!!! Check out my new Compilation comin up in may 2008 including 2 new Moguai singles!

You have now tour in Australia. What are your impressions from this country?
I was in Australia many times and I love it! It’s a great country with very lovely people!
To tour in Australia is a pleasure for me, every time! It’s a perfect combination to rock some of the best clubs worldwide at the weekends and to visit many nice and interesting places and people during the week. Life could be worse! 

Are you planning to visit Eastern Europe (Baltic states or Russia, Ukraine) in 2008 year?
Oh yes, I am looking forward to visit Eastern Europe in 2008 as much as I can! My new compilation and single will be released in Easter Europe, too. As I heard from my booker, we have a show fixed in Warsaw and in Prague, but I hope to be in Russia, Ukraine and the Baltic states as well. Cheers to my mates in Estonia at this stage. (Urmas & Erlend)!

Do u have any “special” items in your technical raider?
Not really! 2 Pioneer CDJ1000, 2 Technics turntables and a Pioneer DJM800 or an Allen & Heath Zone DJ Mixer. I think my rider is not so sensational this moment, I am planning to bring some specials like the mixture of visual and audio in 2008!

Tell us about Guaimo project. As I know its your common work with Phil Fuldner and Michael Bellina.
Phil Fuldner , Michael “Jaxon” Bellina and I we do all the studio work together! If it is Moguai or Phil Fuldner or whatever. Guaimo was founded because I wanted to make another style of music. More deeper and minimalistic than my main project Moguai…

What can we wait from this project in near future?
I think minimum one more guaimo single! We are doing so much this moment! In May I will release my new annual mix compilation, including 2 brand new singles and some other specials! You better be prepared! Smile

How can u describe your unique style of music?
Uh, that’s a good question! It is very difficult to describe my style of music, because it is different and a mixture of some kind of styles! I like to include break beats, minimal music, melodies into a flowing groove…Very difficult to describe, easier to listen!

What are your current favorite tracks?
In this moment it is Chasing Pavements from Adele!

Which track is your best of all time?
It is One Step Beyond from Madness ! I combine this track with my youth!

Any advice for young producers?
It is very important to be your self when you make music! You must create your own style, because this will be the different to all the other DJ´s and producers all over the world. I think many people know what the get when they buy or download a MOGUAI track or they listen to a MOGUAI set in a club. It is important to express you self with music!

Where did the name Moguai come from?
My sister had an architecture project in Barcelona many years ago. It was a project to design and build a new club for electronic music! She called the project MOGUAI! I liked it so much and so it was the becoming of my DJ name MOGUAI!

Yes, I checked it and I like it. I think it is very important for our scene that we have portals like HOUSEPLANET.DJ, because it is easy to get information by this way and it is very good for example for DJ´s, events or record labels to promote themselves in the world wide web!
