Mogan Page ‘The Longest Road’ hits No. 1 on progressive chart
14 February, 2008 | 1.08PMThe song is titled ‘The Longest Road’, but it didn’t take too long for this new anthemic track from Morgan Page
to climb its way to #1 on Beatport’s progressive house chart.
The fact that it’s remixed by juggernaut producer/DJ, Deadmau5
, certainly helps as well.
With lead vocals coming from California folk artist, Lissie, whom Page calls “one of the most exciting voices I’ve heard in years,” the song was released two weeks ago to European DJs and has quickly found its way back to the US audience.
The amalgamation of Lissie’s Folk background with Morgan’s marquee production has been desribed as “Laurel Canyon meets Hollywood.” (For those who don’t know, Laurel Canyon is a canyon community in the hills of Los Angeles known for its bohemian spirit.) Indeed, the song effortlessly fuses laid-back folk rock influences with the edge and energy of good ole’ Progressive House.
“The Longest Road” is the first single from Morgan Page’s new album, Elevate, which is slated for relase world-wide on March 25 through Nettwerk Records. A full single of “The Longest Road” will also be released February 26 that will include additional remixes by Robbie Rivera, Terry Grant, Discount Rhinos, and Morgan as well.
