Mj Motta - Bang Bank
Mj Motta - Bang Bank
16 April, 2009 | 1.51PMQuimika Records
are slowly establishing themselves as one of the premier progressive labels. Based in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo, releases from quality artists like Federico Giust
, Thee-O, Lee Pennington
, Tobias Hoppe
, Colin C
, and Nicholas Van Orton
have helped put them on the map. Their latest release is called “Bang Bank” coming from newcomer MJ Motta.
The original is a relentless tribal house production. An aggressive bassline and bass stabs give the track an edge while the percussion helps create more energy.
Grunjah
‘s remix has some progressive elements to compliment the tribal angle of the original. This is a solid mix, if only a slight variation on the original.
The final element of the package is the Alex Hall
remix and this mix is a little more twisted than the first. A long drop, with a rising arpeggio and distorted vocal sample, allows this mix to climax, definitely in the running for the best out of the 3.
This is a solid release from Quimika, and no doubt we will be hearing more from this label as 2009 progresses.
