What is it with Minus and the colour black?

Beatportal just spotted female techno DJ Magda in the lobby of Marriott hotel (opposite the event site of Movement 2008) and she was dressed from head to toe in black, and was even wearing some super shiny black pointy boots.

The Minus crew love their black

Then there’s Minus’ promo for The Cube and Contakt events – all the crew are dressed in black too.

I bet tonight at the Minus afterparty all of the Minus lot will be in black (we’ll take some shots and upload them).

It’s minimal, I guess. Or is part of the Minus company directive – does Richie Hawtin force the DJs and artists on his label to wear black like a techno despot?
