Minitek organizers apologize

Last weekend’s New York festival Minitek apparently went down with a few snares, leaving festival goers feeling perhaps a little used and abused.

According to a letter of public apology on their website, they state “...we take the blame for those [mistakes on our end] but we do hope that you understand that most chaos was caused by the night venue’s misrepresentation, which - straightout- f***ed us over, collected ten thousands of dollars from us and left us stranded.

“The disappointment of the many people that couldn’t enter that night make us feel beyond miserable…”

From an overbooked venue to RFID bracelets that didn’t work, to paying a second time for an afterhours that was meant to be free, festival goers had ample opportunity to experience the many woes of Minitek.

On the upside, it sounds like Francois K and Richie Hawtin’s sets offered some redemption and in spite of the many glitches and issues, the organizers assure us that there will be another Minitek.
