Minitek festival on the horizon, Francois K to close

In the not-so-distant future of September 12th- 14th, New York city (and historic Coney Island to be precise) will be host to one of the state’s largest and most esteemed electronic music festivals as of late.

Minitek, headed by the Minimoo crew, is a celebration of techno music and innovation in the fields of art, design, science and technology.

Click through for further details and the full line-up.

The Minitek festival is boasting not just flavor for your ears, but also music technology / software demonstrations, experimental art and technology installations by day, with cutting-edge visual projections by night.

This year RFID bracelets will be utilized, but the planners assure us that there will be no “Big Brother” misuse —only a few fun surprises.

For the day, the festival site is to be located between the Boardwalk, the beach and the Cyclone rollercoaster on Coney Island, while at night things will move to midtown Manhattan.

A recent addition to the line-up includes New York staple Francois K [a], who will be closing one of the two festival stages on Sunday evening, September 14th.

So if you think it’s all about the techno, think again because this founding father will be sure to add his 4/4 flavor to the mix.
