Milton Jackson to ‘Crash’ his debut LP

Milton Jackson to ‘Crash’ his debut LP

Milton Jackson [a] had a very successful 2008, with the Glasgow-based producer’s ‘Ghosts In My Machine’ named one of the top singles of 2008.

February 16th will see Jackson release his debut album ‘Crash’ on Freerange Records [l].

Word from Milton Jackson is that ‘Crash’ takes inspiration from music outside of the world of electronic music, in particular the work of exotica pioneer Les Baxter, whose album ‘Ritual of the Savage (Le Sacre du Sauvage)’ coined the phrase in 1952.

“I try to take influences from outside dance music if I can, as that’s the basis (hopefully) for a fresher sound,” explained Jackson, whose unique take on deep house has won him many fans.

Incidentally, Les Baxter was also behind the ‘whistle’ theme tune of TV show Lassie.
