Mihalis Safras Album on Spotlight

Mihalis Safras Album on Spotlight

Mihalis Safras [a] is without a doubt one of the most contrasting producers out there. The album Cry For The Last Dance from Trapez [l] ltd. slated for release on June 8th 2009 further confirms this premise. The album includes 12 tracks of which 11 have never been released before.

Mihalis Safras [a] is without a doubt one of the most contrasting producers out there. The album Cry For The Last Dance from Trapez [l] ltd. slated for release on June 8th 2009 further confirms this premise. The album includes 12 tracks of which 11 have never been released before.

Track 1 Chopsticks combines a tribal feeling with the sound of cruise ships. This combination is then transformed into a showcase of Mediterranean strings that completely take the track to a new level. Chopsticks is a perfect track to open such a unique album. Track 2 Chica Boom instills a deep lounge/club feeling where one can totally relax and escape reality. Cry For The Last Dance or track 3 after which the entire album is named introduces huge tribal drums intermittently. Perhaps, Track 4 Adonis is the real highlight of the entire album as the long distinctive sounds of the track really make Adonis a track that won’t be forgotten due to the excitement that Mihalis Safras manages to build.
The next track that really stands out on the album is track 8 Bean or Beam. Mihalis Safras manages to infuse real energy into the album with this track. Smells like Paradise is not a track that can be ignored. After turning off the sound the short male vocals from the track stayed in my head and I am sure those vocals can penetrate into anybody’s mind. Rina returns to the Mediterranean string sound from where the album opened. A different style of sound is introduced with Stolen Style. The title of the track really gives away its essence as the melodic chords truly showcase a unique style. Last track on the album Here Comes the Rain (Edit) summarizes the entire feeling that is heard throughout the album and is a perfect track to end the journey with Mihalis Safras [a]‘ Cry for the last dance.
