MEMBERS OF MAYDAY - MAKE MY DAY
MEMBERS OF MAYDAY - MAKE MY DAY
19 March, 2010 | 7.59AMMEMBERS OF MAYDAY - MAKE MY DAY
The Members are back with yet another epic-electronic stadium rocker.
Melting their larger-then-life bassline with a classic Clint Eastwood line spoken in the movie Sudden Impact the Members add a twenty piece drum orchestra (of sound bites from pomp rock to Detroit), reverse delays, processed human beat box sounds and a self-referring keyboard riff only to come up with their recognizable but always changing sound formula of unadjusted baroque grandesse.
MAYDAY
“Make my day” is the theme song for this years Mayday Events held internationally starting on the 30th of April in Dortmund’s Westfalenhalle, then on to Moscow, St Petersburg, Budapest with a final show at Poland’s biggest indoor location Spodek in November 2010.
MEMBERS LIVE ON MAYDAY
When the Members take the stage on Mayday the stage turns into the dance floor, while the dance floor turns into a stage. It’s not a concert it’s a ceremony. The crowd squeezes into the main arena and the atmosphere reaches the climax. On their home turf the Members of Mayday have proven again and again to be a tough act to follow even for the likes of Paul Van Dyk, Armin van Buuren, for Carl Cox or The Prodigy.
While the ceremony is in full swing every track is recognized by the slightest beat of a typical Members conga sound greeted by screams of joy and hands in the air.
With a legacy of hits started in the founding days of techno rave culture the knowledge of Mayday tracks such as 10 in 01, Sonic Empire has been handed down to generations of Mayday fans right down to the class of 2010.
Some of which weren’t even born when the first “Mayday Anthem” was released in 1992.
