Meltin Pot EP
Meltin Pot EP
Mark Broom [Saved Records]
28 April, 2009 | 2.15PMBritish techno producer Mark Broom
is on a major roll at the moment, having dropped a string of brilliant releases in the last couple of months on Code Records, Tronic, Jericho and Soma.
His new ‘Meltin Pot’ EP on Nic Fanciulli’s Saved Records
is perhaps one of his finest cuts to date.
‘Melting Pot’ is high octane techno, and perfectly suited for tearing up main rooms with its bleepy synth lead. The music encapsulates the finer points of late night techno culture, with a soaring break and broody beats.
Better still is ‘Raincheck’, a stupendously evolving, bassline-heavy techno throbber that has all the hallmarks of being a Luciano or Adam Beyer-sponsored techno bomb.
With a clever drop that teases before dropping into driving hi hat heaven, which then falls again into a bassline symphony, ‘Raincheck’ is utterly sublime.
