Alix Perez has been the man to watch in drum & bass for quite some time now and after releasing the classic ‘Crooklyn’ on Soul;R he’s returned back to the Shogun camp to release his debut album.

‘Melanie’ which features on the flip side to ‘I’m Free’ is a taster of what we can expect; lush piano loops, liquid beats and passionately soulful drum & bass.

Alix’s earlier works set him apart from his contemporaries, with his emphatic piano loops and string sections evoking the kind of emotions rarely found in drum & bass’ relentless beats and basslines.

Teaming up with Lynx on ‘The Allegiance Ep’, Alix dropped his biggest hit ‘Crooklyn’ that set a new benchmark for liquid dnb and was caned from by the likes of Fabio and LTJ Bukem.

And ‘Melanie’ picks up where he left off with rolling double bass plucked notes, atmospheric effects and tight production that highlights why Alix deserves to be a future star of the scene.
