Mason go for a moody, melancholy-robots vibe with “Little Angel,” their recent single featuring Aqualung (Matt Hales), of the 2002 hit “Strange and Beautiful.” It’s been out for a while, but a new video redirects our attention to the summertime sleeper hit.

Hales channels Thom Yorke while Mason’s Iason Chornis and Coen Berrier walk the delicate line between Giorgio Moroder and proper progressive house; no wonder DJs from DJ Hell to Dave Seaman to Karotte are all over it.

The EP includes a lush rework from Rex The Dog—a good choice, as his arpeggiated chug is an obvious influence in the original mix—as well as a stripped-back remix from Kolombo; Robert Babicz contributes a deep house “Sunshine Mix” as well as an instrumental “Sunshine Dub.” Rounding it all out, Mason contribute “Little Angel Refurb,” an ambient sketch that’s just crying out to open or close a mixtape.
