If you’ve set foot anywhere near a deep-house dancefloor in the past six months, surely you’ve encountered the blissful strains of Mario & Vidis’ ”Changed” (Future Classic). In a year of when dance producers are eagerly getting in touch with their sensitive sides, “Changed” is an unabashed tearjerker, setting a new gold standard for deep-house balladry.

Hailing from Lithuania, Mario & Vidis are house/disco producer Mario Basanov and Vidmantas “Vidis” Cepkauskas; in January, they’ll release their debut album on their own Silence Music label. Their track “Kashyyyk” was recently included on Crosstown Rebels’ Get Lost 4 Mixed By Damian Lazarus, and back in June, they released the stellar ”Plastic People” EP on Andre Lodemann and Daniel Best’s Best Works Records.

Andre Lodemann also turns up with a remix on the “Changed” EP, along with Soul Clap, Softwar, Jozif, and John Talabot, whose “Changed” remix is among the best things the Catalan producer has done yet. Don’t sleep on this one.
