Marco V Tops The Annual 12th DJ Awards

He’s already widely considered as one of the founding fathers of trance and tech-trance, and now Dutch legend Marco V has beaten off some of the stiffest competition in the world to scoop the prestigious Best Tech House DJ at the DJ Awards in Ibiza.

Competing against a massive raft of talent, including Dubfire, Funkagenda, Laurent Garnier, M.A.N.D.Y., Marco Carola, Radio Slave and Steve Lawler, it may have come as a surprise to some that Marco scooped the gong in this particular category.

With huge support around the world plus a ground-breaking two-part album, the V:Man has topped yet another genre, and in doing so cements his worth as one of the world’s most versatile DJs.

Speaking from Ibiza where he collected the award in person Marco said: ‘Wow, I really didn’t expect this at all. A million thanks to everyone who voted me in this category, it’s really made my year. I try to play as many styles as possible in my sets and radio show and I guess the tech must’ve been loudest”.

2009 has been a fantastic year for Marco V, whose Top 10 Mix radio show was snapped up by FM stations around the globe. A rework of his biggest ever record – Simulated, and of course the delivery of his latest artist album – ‘Propaganda’. And as the end of year approaches, there’s plenty more to come from the V man.
