Mad At Me
Mad At Me
Tiger Stripes [Get Physical Music]
13 December, 2007 | 1.18PMThis is one electro house track sitting amidst two, deep techno rumblers on this three-track EP.
In complete contrast to some of this month’s massive, in-your-face electro house bombs this is very considered in its approach to your ear ... only at its end does it build into what you could describe as an all-out-assault on the senses.
This tells you that ‘Survivor’ truly does survive in the mix, keeping interesting and lively throughout its duration.
It’s made up of this clicky beat with percussion that isn’t a million miles away from the tracking sound on the motion sensor in James Cameron’s classic Aliens film.
On top of this you have a very basic, but nevertheless masterfully executed, rounded synth melody whose bassline follows it in identical fashion but three octaves lower.
As you can imagine, this makes for a pretty distinct sound that even the most bleary-eyed dancefloor inhabitant will be able to grab a hold of for a ride.
Then, towards the end, a growling, snarling resonant bass enters the arena, but not before your listeners have had a good chance to get a feel for what’s on offer.
