Lutzenkirchen UK ‘Time Warp EP’

Well you may or may not know that we’re very big fans of Lutzenkirchen here at Spin Out.

After making a name for himself in 2005 on the label Great Stuff, his endless catalogue of remixes and personal productions have been outstanding and with his DJing style of techno/minimal/microhouse he has also become a very sought after DJ.

When he came to play for us down at Herbal in 2007, we knew this was a guy we wanted to work with and so here is what we’ve got for you; a two part EP from the man himself!

Part 1: Weasel Groove (Original & Blende Remix)

Part 2: Back In Time (Original, Caninesounds & Kamuki Remix)

Out now on Beatport.

Part 1 - Weasel Groove:

A typical Lützenkirchen bass heavy track.  It kicks in with some nifty percussion, skippy beats and a techno bassline rolling on until the melody drops with some glitchy synths and the ‘out of time’ snippit vocal.  The track builds up until the whole thing drops and when it does, you’d best watch those speakers as the bass is heavy, not unlike his infamous track ‘Knight Moves’.  This one is soon to be another Lützenkirchen classic!

On the remix front, we have upcoming producer Blende, he’s recently done remixes for the likes of the Klaxons and MSTRKRFT and we knew he would be able to work his magic on this release and my god, what a remix!  This track is just full-on jacking and dirty. There is no messing about, just get on the dancefloor and fucking dance. The chunky beats will get your fists pumping and your butt moving and with the massive amount of dirty bass throughout we can almost guarantee you’ll be pulling your bass face through the whole track.  Cleverly using the synth melody from the original this track breaks and then builds until it explodes into an all out frenzy of filthy which will have any dancefloor going crazy. What more can we say...its a pure filth fest!

Part 2 - Back In Time:

‘Back In Time’ is a track that does exactly what it says on the tin.  Combining elements of trance from the 99/2000 era but bringing them bang up to date with some really solid beats and use of synths.  The percussion builds up until the techno-esque bassline comes in and drives the track until the next break.  At which point the melody comes crashing in and builds up in true trance style adding extra synths for mega-effect, melodies are flying around and finally it drops. The second build is even bigger and when the track kicks back the dancefloor will be in euphoric mania! This one will definitely take you ‘Back In Time’ to the good ‘ole hands in the air, hug your neighbour and French-kiss a stranger kind of way.

First on remix duties we have Spin Out resident DJ’s and hosts of our SpinOut Sessions, the infamous Caninesounds....Sam Caterer and Andy Isbister deliver their first release for Spin Out and have given us a more of a heads down, dirty on the dancefloor mix. Throbbing bass connects with a few cheeky FX, topped off with a few familiar riffs from the original, making this remix a grooving, dirty, bass driven track. On the whole, this remix is heavier than Barry White’s fridge after a few hours at Tesco.

The final remix is from Spin Out debutants Kamuki.  These boys have delivered a superb electro remix here.  The beats have a live feel to them and fuse well with the floating synths and snippits of the original.  The break drops down to the original melody and then builds again until going back down into a plodding, swinging electro bass which evolves into the full on pace of the track.  The percussion and bass keep the track grooving until the thriller of a build up teases you back to the electro track that many dancefloors will go mad for.

Enjoy x
