On first listening to Sunlounger’s new album ‘Sunny Tales’, the track that leaves the biggest impression is ‘Lost’.

Sunlounger is the alias of Armin’s current golden boy DJ Shah, who has mastered the art of creating beautiful Balearic music.

And ‘Lost’ is beautiful, melodic trance at its best, with vocals from Zara Taylor, who featured on his previous release ‘Crawling’.

Sometimes vocals can make a record sound cheesy, but Zara’s stunning lyrics personalise the record for each individual listener. You find yourself subconsciously applying the words to your own experiences and feelings and in doing so you really connect with the music.

Like any good trance track, ‘Lost’ [number 17 in the player below] is euphoric and uplifting with sad undertones, but its consistent quality means that it isn’t a record that relies on the breakdown to achieve maximum euphoria.

With massive support from Armin – who opened with ‘Lost’ on one of his Armada nights in Ibiza this summer and has been dropping it on his ‘A State of Trance’ radio show for the last few weeks – it’s no wonder this track is rapidly acquiring a huge fan base.

Any album release by DJ Shah is a good investment to your musical library because, even though some of his tracks are a bit cheesy, the hidden gems like ‘Back to You’ and ‘Lost’ are a must-have for any trance fan.
