London’s Secretsundaze gets new home
3 May, 2007 | 10.09AMAs London’s top daytime party, Secretsundaze has always had a problem with capacity. You simply can’t fit 5000 people into an east London boozer on a Sunday afternoon.
Now Giles Smith and James Priestley have secured a huge rooftop in Kings Cross for their 2007 summer parties.
“This is the first time that this great open-air space above Canvas has been used by a promoter on a regular basis,” said Giles.
The roof is located in Kings Cross Goods Depot above Canvas nightclub, and the first party on Sunday May 6th will feature Cocoon’s Andre Galluzzi
and Get Physical’s Samim
.
“This is a vast rooftop which will be produced to the usual Secretsundaze standards and we are excited to say the very least,” continued James.
But whilst the rooftop above Canvas is much bigger than the pubs in Shoreditch, it still doesn’t have a capacity of 5000.
Unfortunately, that means the economic forces of demand and supply must come into effect, and as such Secretsundaze is more expensive than ever before.
Tickets are 10 quid to the daytime event, and £8 to the afterparty at The Key nightclub.
And if clubbers wish to go to both events it’ll cost them a whopping £18.
The days of dancing in London in the sun, on a Sunday daytime for free, are long gone my friend.
