Who the hell is Olivier Giacomotto?

This French producer’s rise to the top of electro house circles has been impressive.

Having stormed dancefloors with his ‘Sofa King/Good’ release on John Acquaviva’s Definitive Records in 2008, he’s since remixed for some of the biggest labels on the scene including Cr2 Records and mau5trap.

Here on Definitive once again, Giacomotto shows his ability to draw from two different sounds – ‘Locomotto’ is driving funky electro house at its best, while flip side ‘Guacamoli’ is techier house music.

The simple, yet unique melody of ‘Locomotto’ fits hand-in-hand with its wobbly, low-end percussion.

One by one, subtle shakers and ride cymbals blend their way into the backbone of the track before a quick vocal introduces the main groove.

Once everything jumps back in at around 4:02, it’s nearly impossible to resist the urge to pump your fist and nod your head.

This release will surely cement Giacomotto’s reputation further.
