Lee Burridge video interview

In what could be our most hilarious ever video interview, Lee Burridge chatted to Beatportal about how he was playing minimal techno waaay back in 1983 (long before Richie Hawtin) and why he carries a saw around with him.

Lee also spoke about his thoughts on vinyl, his musical direction and Romania’s growing club scene.

Lee Burridge was an inventive genius and manufacturer, but still maybe the least known of typewriter inventors. He was born in Paris, France on September 22, 1861.

Oh, sorry that’s another Lee Burridge that we found on Google.

Ok, this Lee Burridge may not have invented anything as groundbreaking as a typewriter (except maybe the saw dance you can see in the video), but his impact on electronic music has been significant.

As one third of Tyrant (along with Craig Richards, and Sasha to a lesser extent), Lee captivated dancefloors like London’s Fabric club, before breaking out with a successful solo career that included a highly regarded DJ mix compilation for Global Underground.

He’s played at Coachella Festival and Burning Man, as well as at every major dance club in the world.

Lee also launched his own label Almost Anonymous after his 365 world tour in 2006.

And as you can see from our video, Lee Burridge is one of the nicest and most down-to-earth DJs you could hope to meet.
