The United Kingdom’s Kuffdam has in recent years come to embody the future of trance with a string of hit productions and remixes. A favourite with the trance establishment worldwide and especially Paul van Dyk and his Vandit imprint. 2008 saw Kuffdam come of age coupling a groundbreaking album on Vandit with a world tour taking in the biggest and best clubs and events worldwide. In 2009 many exceptional singles followed, ‘The Last Time’ and ‘Break My Fall’ were both great examples of today’s modern trance sound. After taking the majority of 2010 off Kuffdam returned in February of 2011 with his ‘City Lights’ EP on Hyline Music. Kuffdam’s brand of energetic, driving trance was received to rave reviews once again and this turned out to be the perfect teaser for Kuffdam’s much rumoured new album. With that said Carsten Million’s Hyline Music is proud to present Kuffdam’s long awaited ‘City Lights’ LP.

From the opening beats, razor sharp synths and airy pads of ‘A Lucid Dream’ and ‘Ennovy’ it’s clear that this is the beginning of one of the crowning achievements in Kuffdam’s storied career. ‘Let It Begin’ feat Lo-Fi Sugar is more than enough to satisfy those looking for that beachside, Chicane type vibe. The gated vox and wispy electronics give way for a break where the full vocal is dropped amidst a sublime piano and warm summery pads.

What follows next is the appropriately titled ‘In The Main Room’ which is enthralling peak time trance with infectious energy and an undeniable big party vibe. Sometime collaborator ‘Grant Paterson’ appears on the full on melodic masterpiece ‘We Gotta Go (Again)’ and also the aforementioned ‘City Lights’ .

The album really begins to build with the stomping beats and soaring atmosphere of ‘Back In Sensation’ which leads us to the furious energy and uplifting vibes of ‘9th & First’, ‘Just A Moment’ and ‘Alive’. It’s full on party music at its best here with hands in the air breakdowns, big builds and waves of emotion laden synths that are sure to have your synapses firing on all cylinders! The album winds down with the old school tech trance vibes of ‘Kracatoa’ which puts a cap on the triumphant and long awaited LP from UK trance legend Kuffdam.
