Kraftwerk’s Electronic Revolution

Founded in 1970 by pioneering German musicians Florian Schneider and Ralf Hütter, Kraftwerk has long been considered one of the founding fathers of electronic music, with a sweeping influence that’s touched artists from David Bowie to Coldplay.

This September they will be celebrated in a documentary DVD release, titled ‘Kraftwerk and the Electronic Revolution’.

The film will cover the long run of the group’s entire career, with a focus on how they descended into the experimental music scene in Germany in the ‘70s and emerged on the other side of synth-pop and techno in the ‘80s.

Along with rare live footage and photographs of Kraftwerk and their contemporaries in the Krautrock scene at the time, the film also features exclusive interviews with ex-Kraftwerk members and other German electronic musicians, commentaries from German writers and journalists, plus live and studio recordings.

After the break you’ll find the tracklisting and bonus features, plus a video that exemplifies Kraftwerk’s masterful handiwork.
