Korg DS-10 now available in Japan
3 August, 2008 | 4.40PM- Section: Music News Topics: Technology
I don’t know if small is always good, but it seems quite apparent that we tend to prefer many things smaller over here in Japan.
As we have covered on Beatportal before, Korg has developed a palm-sized synth that you can play, program and record on a portable game machine Nintendo DS.
The product was first exhibited at Musikmesse 2008 in March, and finally launched only in Japan about a week ago.
The price for the software is 4800 yen, which is approximately US $45. Not bad for a new synthesizer.

It is somehow only available via Amazon, and can not be shipped outside Japan at the moment.
According to the 41 customer reviews posted on the Amazon page so far, the average rating is 4.5 stars out of five.
The users of all levels seem impressed by the functions of such a tiny device.
Even the absolute beginners without any knowledge of music making or synthesizers have commented that they find it very fun to play with.
What a convenient and handy way to start your creative life!
