King Unique returns with ‘Hinode’
9 May, 2008 | 1.44PM- Section: Music News Topics: House Nation
Matthew Roberts and Matt Thomas return to the recording arena in April as King Unique - one of the most influential dance production outfits of the past decade with a plethora of hits and acclaimed remixes to their name.
Their minimal tech-etched single on Curfew is called ‘Hinode’.
“It’s a tribute and farewell to our favourite club, Yellow in Tokyo,” explains Thomas.
“We’ve played some great gigs there, six or seven hours in the dark with 800 people and one strobe light – perfection.”
Living up to its name it’s the sort of record that in order to be fully appreciated needs to be played at 5am in a dark and cavernous mainroom with the lights out – and is already being heavily featured in sets from Dubfire, Nic Fanciulli, and Fergie, who loved it so much he remixed it too.
