Keep an eye on Delphic

Woah, I’m in love. As I loaded my player with new tunes and went about my work day, enjoying the hum of beats without vocals keeping me focused and calm, like a beacon of light in the techno darkness came Delphic.

Their debut single ‘Counterpoint’, out now on R&S, is a fast paced indie dance triumph with energizing yet blissful synths, strings, drums and emotionally uplifting vocals reminding us ‘nothing’s wrong today’.

Upon further investigation, it’s clear that Delphic are poised for success already.

With only their first single just released, already the band has a sleek and sexy website with an intro video that, on its own, is enough to make me consider buying tickets at whichever show comes nearest my current locale… maybe even a road trip?

Add a summer schedule that has these Manchester boys touring the rest of the UK as well as shows in Holland, Belgium, and Japan, plus festival appearances at Creamfields, the Wireless Festival in Hyde Park, and Rob Da Bank’s now infamous ultimate festival weekend spent camping in costume, Bestival, and one thing is certain, these boys are ready for takeoff.

OK maybe it is too early to be in love. But I’ve always been one to fall hard and fast and Delphic have done it for me.  With a couple more tasty numbers on their MySpace player, I’ve got enough to keep me bopping my head along through my work day until they give me more.

But perhaps you’re not like me and maybe you need a little less energy in your headphones and a little more groove.  Then check out then remixes from The Chain and Paul Woolford [a] (in the player below).  They’ve darkened it down and created some lovely late-night (very early morning) versions.

Or maybe you think you can do better than either of them.  Delphic has provided you the option to give it your best shot with a ‘do your own remix’ section on their website, allowing for people to both create and vote for their favorite mixes. Now that’s savvy for a band who’ve just released their debut single.
