Katherine Ellis teams up with Count Paris for a hit
10 March, 2008 | 2.29PM- Section: Music News Topics: House Nation
Another month and another track emblazoned with the glass-shattering nuances of vocalist Katherine Ellis.
Between her and Shena, they really are the contemporary UK counterparts to Jocelyn Brown and Loleatta Holloway from disco’s heyday!
Back to Ms Ellis’ latest release, and on ‘Poza (You Got What I Need)’ by Count Paris, she again delivers a vocal workout that overshadows all competition, and whilst the song may not be her strongest (to my mind the trio of ‘Guilty’, ‘Insatiable’ and ‘Salty’ will take some beating), the Canadian production and all encompassing mix package more then make up for the shortfall.
Strongest of the pack on the Eyezcream release come from Dave Armstrong and his Redroche partner, while Olav Basoski and DJ DLG do more then just make up the numbers.
