K-Scope releases ‘Deepest Desire’
13 March, 2008 | 1.36PM- Section: Music News Topics: House Nation
Late last year, we extolled the virtues of K-Scope and their burbling Lil Louis-inspired ‘Elektrikiss’.
The sophomore Nite Grooves EP ‘Deepest Desire / Dreamstate’ from Eric Kupper’s alter ego dutifully arrives and, thankfully, doesn’t suffer from second single syndrome.
In fact, the double header pairing ‘Deepest Desire’ with ‘Dreamstate’ is, if anything, even better.
The latter has all the hallmarks of François K in his late-19990s Wave days weaving a deep crafted mixture of synth-laden house over a simple, yet memorable melody that borders on the more minimal side of the genre.
The juxtapose ‘Deepest Desire’ adheres to a more percussive state of mind as lazy congas, tribal-kissed beats, marimba keys and snaking basslines meld to create an absorbing and totally captivating track that sides comfortably to its B-side.
