‘Just Another Groove’ gets remixed again

The Mighty Dub Katz’ ‘Just Another Groove’ makes a welcome return on Southern Fried Records [l] — even it does seem to get released more often than Britney has misjudged nights out — and sports a top notch remix package to boot.

This particular creation first heralded the arrival of Norman Cook [a] [pictured] some 13-years back — long before he made Fatboy Slim into a household name.

It’s also built around the same ‘Disco Juice’ sample that Hott 22 and Angie Zee’s ‘More Than Just Friends’ equally employed so effectively last year on their Gossip release.

The Patrick Adams loop now is rinsed by man-of-the-moment Tocadisco (funky and chunky), Ashley Beedle (subtle nu millennium disco), Williams & Pitch (stark and stripped house) and Nathan Detroit vs The Wizards (rock-etched electronica), alongside the remastered version of the superior Original version.

Instant familiarity is a key ingredient in creating a good crossover track, and ‘Just Another Groove’ has heaps of the stuff.
