has to be one of the most underrated producers in the US electronic music scene.
Despite a number of standout cuts like ‘Sandcastles’ (which he produced with Dennis Ferrer), ‘Elephant’ (one of the biggest techno tracks of 2007, produced alongside Rune), ‘GSXR 810’ and ‘Son of Raw’ (another Ferrer collaboration) he is rarely given his dues in the press and blog world.
‘Judgement’ is yet another outstanding Sydenham groove that will probably shift hundreds of thousands of feet this summer thanks to its usefulness as a DJ tool, yet it’ll probably remain under the radar of most people.
The original mix of ‘Judgement’ is a heads down, relentless techno drag race between competing synths that are allowed to run free between brief interludes of kick drums. Continuously building, ‘Judgement’ drives forwards with fountains of energy and mass potential.
By contrast, the Blacktro Dub is darker and slow burning, and contains an air horn-like synth breakdown that will probably tear down the walls of DC10 (if it opens) and other Ibiza clubs this summer.
Dark rooms need this kind of music.
