Joshua Collins hits it again with ‘Lilo’
13 December, 2007 | 11.19AMThere’s never a dull moment listening to Joshua Collins’ musical output.
A maestro of less-most-definitely-more his subtle loops, warm strings and deep bassline throbbing combine to create a sound that is as contemporary as it is timeless.
His latest release is ‘Lilo’, on the always-reliable Urbantorque
label, and it continues to build on a discography that seems to be growing on a near-daily basis.
As with what’s gone before, Joshua Collins
delivers a sublime slice of electronica almost without breaking sweat, getting the balance right between the simple and complex.
He conjures up a myriad of emotions in the process with a support cast of remixes from Satoshi Fumi, Harold Heath and Chris Fortier.
Collins, a Chi-Town native, comes across like a modern day soul man with a penchant for techno — and by techno, think Underground Resistance and early Madkatt Courtship material.
