The venerable DJ, producer and Ovum label boss Josh Wink shows how it’s done on this week’s Radio 1 Essential Mix. 

Never one to shy away from stylistic border crossings, this is the man who’s been paving the way between the underground and the mainstream for over fifteen years, breaking boundaries with now legendary releases that include ‘Don’t Laugh’ and ‘Higher State of Consciousness’.

Here on his Essential Mix Mr. Winkelman (did you know that’s his real name?) whips up a selection of crowd pleasing tracks that are collectively further testament to his prowess behind the decks: Kerri Chandler, Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts, Thom Yorke as well as Shed and Martyn have found their way onto the tracklist in a mix that runs from house to dubstep and plenty in between to demonstrate just how versatile this veteran jock is.

Additionally, we get a very special preview of his forthcoming solo artist album, ‘When A Banana Was Just a Banana’ due out in early February.
