Josh Wink: ‘I’m not scared of DC10!’
17 May, 2007 | 2.47AMDespite Circoloco’s notorious reputation, Josh Wink
isn’t nervous one little bit about his new residency at Ibiza’s flagship afterparty.
The DC10 Monday afternoon club night is bringing in loads of new residents for summer 2007, and US producer and DJ Josh Wink is one of them.
“I’ve been DJing for a long time, so nervousness isn’t really something that happens often,” Wink told Beatportal.
“At Circoloco, I feel comfortable and always enjoy going there.
“It’s true, there is nowhere like it; the people behind it, the crowd, the music.
“Last year my guest sets were so much fun and I’m more than happy that the Circoloco guys wanted me to be more a part of their events all summer.”
And to reiterate Josh’s nerves of steel, and the club’s famed ‘anything-goes’ atmosphere, the DJ from Philadelphia won’t be doing any special preparation for his sets.
“I don’t really make plans before my gigs.
“I just get a vibe off the club and the people and feed off that to decide which direction musically to go.
“But, I like the fact that I can do what I do there, without having to play a certain sound.
“I like to blur the lines of electronic music and love playing house, techno, minimal, acid and deep stuff – at Circoloco they like it all.”
But why is Circoloco at DC10 so important?
“It’s a great place to hear a diverse range of music.
“You can play whatever you want, and that’s so important.
“Also, it’s so nice to have a party going down on a Monday afternoon, that’s a very rare thing.
“Plus the club is out of the way, so the people are there just for the party. I can’t wait”
