The next exciting installment on Mija Recordings comes from one of the UK’s freshest underground talents, Mr. Jon Gurd. As a DJ and producer Jon has been spending the past few years creating his own unique sound; his music and sets alike have gained huge respect from his peers, promoters and most importantly clubbers throughout the world. He now delivers 2 massive big-room, tech house bombs, with a remix from the collaborative pairing of Mija label owner [Louis Osbourne]] and seasoned veteran Jamie Anderson.

Jon has had many accolades throughout his young career, having his previous productions supported by Dubfire, Hernan Cattaneo, Joris Voorn, Johnny D, Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Paco Osuna and Joel Mull amongst many others. Whilst at the same time his own imprint; Killawatt had made big waves in a very small pond, gaining massive recognition throughout 2009.  On the DJ side of things, Jon has taken his sound all over the UK at Sankeys, Product @ Stealth, Ministry Of Sound, Mynt in Belfast and many more. He has also played overseas on numerous occasions in Brazil, China, Russia, Denmark, Spain, France, Ukraine, Lithuania, and India.

2010 has seen Jon diversify from Killawatt and head towards a new phase with new labels. Having spent the last 2 years as a studio engineer, Jon has been slowly crafting his own take on house and techno, with his latest productions being snapped up by Sprout, Starlight and now by us at Mija Recordings.

Jon has delivered two tracks that are quite simply slamming! Entourage has a dark, bass driven edginess, with a rhythm section that blasts through in the mix. The atmospheric sounds and ethnic vocals layered on top will fill any room, large or small. This is a sure fire dance floor bomb! Stamp brings a groovier tech-house sound to the release with a bumping B-line and rolling rhythm section. A perfect complement to Entourage, yet no less floor friendly.

Stepping up for the remix duties are Osbourne & Anderson, the collaborative pairing of Mija’s label owner Louis Osbourne & seasoned veteran Jamie Anderson. Fresh from their release on Jesse Rose’s Front Room Recordings (Osbourne & Anderson – Rare Grooves – FRM031) these two decided to give Stamp a heavy duty remix which has one aim…. to blow the roof off! This is a no holds barred, bass-heavy, big room weapon and has proven highly effective in road tests!

These are underground trax that have the crossover potential for big rooms or basements, with the common thread that they will do some dancefloor damage… Just play them & you will see… Rave on!
