Jay-J starts over
31 March, 2008 | 7.41PM- Section: Music News Topics: House Nation
New York-based producer Jay-J is joined by the soul-drenched vocals of Latrice on the Shifted Music release ‘Starting Over’, a seductive tour de force of jazzy house that owes more to his previous West Coast roots than the tougher sounds usually associated with the Big Apple.
Joseph John Hernandez has been one of the principle players in quality soulful house for close to a decade with releases on nearly all the quality homes of the genre.
There’s a stack of strong mixes to choose from.
Our picks include the sublime shuffling Original and Rasmus Faber’s sparser arrangement built around a funky bassline that George Duke would be proud to call his own.
The epitome of cool and a record that has summer written all over it.
