James Blake covers Feist
James Blake covers Feist
15 October, 2010 | 2.07AMJames Blake is a bloke from London who appears to not only have some serious production prowess under his belt, but considerable vocal talents, too.
He first appeared on the radar with last year’s single “Air & Lack Thereof,” for Hemlock Recordings, which took Radio 1 by storm. Looks like he’s repeating the process with the little ditty featured here, called “Limit To Your Love.” It’s a remake of a Feist tune with Blake’s own spin on the beat, and his own voice too, which has captured the attention of everyone from indie kingmakers Pitchfork to Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, who featured it in his Hottest Record Of The World segment. The official single is due in the coming weeks, and Blake is also planning a full-length album due in early 2011. Be on the lookout. In the meantime, don’t miss his brand-new Klavierwerke EP for R&S. Just out this week, it builds masterfully on the lush, experimental style he’s been developing across singles for Hemlock, Hessle Audio
, and Hotflush Recordings
