Jade Jagger dumps Pacha for Amnesia, Ibiza

For five years Jade Jagger (the daughter of the Stones’ Mick Jagger) has been in bed with Ibiza’s most opulent club Pacha to present her Jezebel concept in the club’s Global Room.

It seemed like the perfect partnership, with Jade Jagger’s creative and affluent friends such as Kate Moss, Damon Dash and Simon Le Bon (Duran Duran) coming together to discuss music and fashion in the surroundings of a club that has always emphasized elitism.

But now the model, jewelry designer and socialite has dumped Pacha for Amnesia, a club which is more known for its cutting-edge electronic music and sweaty dancefloor than its VIPs and yacht owning clientele.

Under a new banner called ‘House Party’, Jade Jagger aims to recreate the private villa parties that she has organised on the island for years in a club environment with the help of Manumission.

Not everybody will be able to rub shoulders with the rich and famous each week though - the Jezebel House Parties will mainly take place behind the velvet rope, in the VIP area of Amnesia every Friday, except for three main room performances.

“Hosting the VIP every Friday and headlining three exclusive parties in the main room creates a perfect backdrop for the new summer of Jezebel,” said Jade Jagger.

“This gives us the chance to invite a new clientele as well as old friends such as Kylie, Grace Jones and Estelle to experience the Jezebel House Party.

“I cannot think of a better club or a more exciting party to be involved with in 2008.”

That’s the spin, but what’s the real story?

The breakup of Pacha and Jezebel will come as a shock to Ibiza locals, as the duo seemed like they were meant to be together forever.

The fact that Jade Jagger has dumped Pacha on Fridays to host the same night at Amnesia is the equivalent of your girlfriend dumping you for your nemesis who lives down the road.

Whether it was Pacha’s management who decided to pull the plug on Jezebel, or Jade Jagger who packed up her feather boas first we will never know.

Don’t forget, Britain’s Pete Tong left Pure Pacha for Eden in San Antonio this year and his departure could have been the catalyst for the change.

Amnesia and Manumission are the real winners though.

The two have always lacked a certain cachet of glamour, and Jade Jagger’s contact list might just tip the VIP scale away from Pacha. At least on Fridays.
