It’s Love / Rock

Influx UK [Formation Records]

The title track ‘It’s Love’ represents an evolvement of Influx UK’s liquidy sound.

It has still got the typically sweet Influx elements to it, but comes across a lot more progressive with new influences seemingly coming from A.I., Twisted Individual and Peshay.

And so you have these really floaty, melancholy orchestral samples drifting all over the stereo field juxtaposed with a big, beefy, flailing bassline.

Ironically, we at Beatport think this song paints a pretty accurate picture of what love is like – a rollercoaster ride!

That is, of course, if you’re talking about human love – the love between a man and his dog is much less problematic.

‘Rock’ is probably referencing the stones in your garden rather than the “rock” in “rock ‘n’ roll”.

It doesn’t have an electric guitar in sight; rather, it’s a simple, minimalist number built around a fat, analogue bassline being played in a very basic melody.

Influx chucks in a few bitcrushed effects and a really nice filtered, resonant pad to make everything whole.

Of the two tracks, it’s hard to pick a favourite – they’re both good – and they’re both different enough to consider picking up each.
