Italy review: Wighnomy Brothers @ Goa, Rome 13th Dec 07
14 December, 2007 | 2.45PM- Section: Music News
There is only one night for the real minimal techno lovers in Rome.
It’s Ultrabeat at Goa: a small and wonderful club where every DJ would like to play.
Every year Goa’s owner prepare a season where every Thursday they present top DJs.
Last night, we listened to an amazing set by Wighnomy Brothers (Freude Am Tanzen).
The night was opened up by one of the residents - Maurizo Cascella from Elettronica Romana.
But Maurizio isn’t an opening DJ.
After the first hour he had the dancefloor on fire.
At 2.30am the wait was over: the craziest DJ double-act in the world got on turntables.
Robag Wruhme and Monkey Maffia aka the Wighnomy Brothers went directly into the history books for the best ever night at Goa with a surprising DJ set.
For two hours their sound touched every soul in the club.
And they were so funny.
They drank vodka all night from a big bottle and climbed up on top of a podium, which was one of those moments.
When the lights came on clubbers and the Wighnomy Brothers themselves shouted for five minutes ‘Ultimo, ultimo!’’ which in English means “Last one, last one”.
