Is Beatmaker the iPhone tool we’ve been waiting for?
Is Beatmaker the iPhone tool we’ve been waiting for?
16 June, 2008 | 3.00AMThis announcement arrived a tad late to be included in last month’s iPhone music software roundup, so here it is now.
While the Intua website touts Beatmaker as the first music creation studio for the iPhone and iPod touch (it’s not, that honor belongs to Moo Cow Music’s Band), we’ll overlook that bit of hyperbole for the sake of spreading the word.
Band may have come first but in our opinion, Beatmaker certainly looks a lot cooler at this point.
With features like built-in effects, MPC-style pads for entering beats, step sequencing, and the ability to export songs to common sample formats, Beatmaker is definitely the production tool that we’ll be keeping an eye on in the coming weeks.
If the screenshots are any indication, Intua shows a real understanding of what makes for a hip and intuitive production interface.
Swing by the Beatmaker product page and scroll down to the teaser images to see what we’re talking about.
And bring a drool bucket.
