Introducing Dave Spoon’s new Televizion label
23 October, 2008 | 3.54AMUK-based electro house don Dave Spoon
launched his new record label Televizion on Monday with a huge first release from Pete Tong
and Dave Spoon himself - ‘Gas Face’.
Considering Dave Spoon’s production prowess and his respect in the industry, Televizion has a good chance of establishing itself as a top label within its first few releases.
We decided to find out more about his plans for the label with a quick interview.

Dave Spoon plans to dominate Televizions
What’s the plan for Televizion
?
The original plan was to use it as a platform for collaborations, but that has now changed already for the better.
It’s not just about house music but quality electronic music, whether that’s techno, fidget house, drum & bass or whatever!
I have Nick Halkes working with me on A&R and for hunting out new talent, his experience is priceless.
Remixes will always bring what we do to the dancefloor but I felt I had the opportunity to do something slightly different with it all.
Drum & bass and techno on one label? That sounds quite broad.
Yeah, we’re really happy to launch with ‘Gas Face’ but then follow up with a drum & bass track from DJ Zinc ‘Ghost Train’.
We also have two or three other exciting bits lined up too, but all in good time.
Apart from Zinc, which other artists will you be working with?
Nick and I have been working on some ideas together, and we have a track called ‘Amnesia’ ready for a vocal and remixes.
That is an ongoing thing, as is working with Zinc but at this early stage it’s hard to say.
There’s a lot of great ideas to develop with various people, and it’s all shaping up well.
How many releases do you plan on doing a month?
One a month to start with, maybe more once we get going.
We’ll see how things take off and also what else is around. We always have an eye on new producers too, so who knows!?
