Spin Out Records recently caught up with remixers Markus Lange and fRew to get to know them a bit better and find out what they’ve been up to lately..... here’s what they had to say.

What have you been up to recently? What’s coming up for you in the next couple of months?

fRew: The 29th of September sees my first remix away from Vacation, track’s called ‘Yo Japan’ written by UK artists Kamuki for you guys of course - Spinout Records.  As far as Original tunes are concerned.  I have Just finished on massive record with young NYC based produced Jimmy Vallance & I have 5 original tunes ready to go on Vacation.”

ML “My new Ep - Markus Lange & Daniel Dexter - Where is my Mind (incl. Malente Remix) and I have alot of new upcoming stuff”

What’s your take on the current dance scene?

fRew “The music is constantly changing.  We are at a point now where so many styles are getting pushed together.  So much room for creativity, one could not ask for a better period to be involved.”

ML “I don’t believe in any scene or genre… cause I don’t categorise music. For me its important to be open minded in all kinds of music and this is what I wish for every scene and all their people….. to be open minded!”

When and where was your best gig ever?

fRew “Two Weeks ago… Brisbane, Australia! Bris vegas is my favorite place in Oz to DJ so far.”

ML “Ohhh I had sooooo many amazing gigs in my life… but one of my best times was as I played in Japan Tokyo!!!”

What was the moment when you knew you wanted to make music your life?

fRew “17yrs old, it was a sunny day outside & all the birds were chirping.  I arose from my slumber, had a shower, ate bacon, eggs and drank an espresso… Then just like that, it hit me. I knew it was meant to be…”

ML “It was as I signed my first contract… I was 17 years old. The best feeling I’ve ever had”

What is your all-time favorite tune? (dance music, or not!)

fRew “That’s impossible for me to answer”

ML “oh really difficult question… but I think Sigur Ros - Untitled 4 (Njosnavelin)”

What is your top tune of the moment?

fRew “Only One - Original Mix – Chris Lake. Or… Deep Down feat. Shirley Davis - Original Club Mix - J Nitti (Hard to Pick)”

ML “Alot alot alot… tunes by Fake Blood, Herve, Switch, Crookers, Proxy....yeah “

What destroys music? What keeps it alive?

fRew “Innovation and evolution keeps it alive… destroy it??????”

ML “Some say digital music and distribution will destroy music but I think copy protections and bans destroy the music scene… music lovers pay for their music!”

If you could choose anyone dead or alive to have dinner with, who would it be and why?

fRew “Would defiantly be Chetwyn, as its always amazing to visit the Manor.”

ML “Chris Martin from Coldplay… I love his music”

If you were trying to seduce someone, what three songs would you put on a mixtape for them?

fRew “Barry White - I’m Gonna Love You Just A Little More Baby
Snoop Dogg - Sensual Seduction
Justin Timberlake featuring T.I. – My love”

ML “Fake Blood - Mars
Crookers - Knobbers
Proxy- Destroy”

What is your rule to live by?

fRew “Forget your opponents; always play against par…”

ML “Every second is another chance to turn all around! So go your own way and believe in yourself!”
