In recognition of International Women’s Day, we’ve selected 13 of our favorite female producers and DJs. Throughout the day, we’ll be featuring them along with their top 10 charts and playlists of their top tracks.

After Richie Hawtin, Minus’ most visible figure is Magda, thanks to her productions and, more importantly, her globetrotting DJ habits (memorably chronicled in a handful of tour diaries for Beatportal). Magda was named #15 in Resident Advisor’s Top 100 DJs of 2010, making her the highest ranked woman in the poll. Despite Minus ‘ reputation as ground zero for minimal, Magda’s music has long incorporated elements of dark disco and coldwave along with house and techno, giving her music a distinctive touch in a scene sometimes derided for its monotone sonics. Her last album, 2010’s From the Fallen Page, summed up her versatility in cuts like “Get Down Goblin” and “Doom Disco.”
