Who needs playlists?

The very clever Erica Sadun has created an audio recognition hack for the iPhone that will identify cuts being played from your radio — that’s any radio.

Sadun is also a contributor for “The Unofficial Apple Weblog” www.TUAW.com, and a posting found on the website alerted us to this nifty program called Listen.

The program collects a five-second sample, sends it into the identifying server — and boom — your song.

It’s only in beta form, but the software been tested by a few people so far, and seems to be intact.
