Ibiza crisis - Cocoon: ‘Don’t panic!’
13 June, 2007 | 4.20AMSven Väth’s Cocoon today issued a statement about the ongoing Ibiza crisis - last week three of the island’s top venues were ordered to close by the island’s authorities, including Cocoon’s summer home Amnesia.
‘As we have learned just now, the decision about the temporary shutdown of Amnesia will not be made until tomorrow, Thursday 14th June 2007’ read a statement on Cocoon’s website.
Representatives from Amnesia, and it is believed DC10 and Bora Bora (the two other venues ordered to stay shut), met with officials from Ibiza’s government and Guardia Civil today to try to overturn the decision.
There is some light at the end of the tunnel - the Cocoon opening party with Sven Vath
, Ricardo Villalobos
, Chris Tietjen
and Zip
will definitely take place on 18th June, even if Amnesia is forced to remain closed.
Cocoon.net reported, ‘However, it does not look too bad and we can say that the Cocoon opening party will take place for sure, even if Amnesia is closed, which we do not assume.’
The message is, don’t panic: ‘So please don’t panic - we are doing our best and will find a solution for sure.’
