Ibiza authorities want to ‘end afternoon raves’
7 January, 2008 | 4.01AMMore bad news from Ibiza, this time published by The Independent.
“Local authorities in Ibiza Town want to close the clubs between 6am and 6pm, putting an end to afternoon raves,” writes Graham Keeley, in an article about the Consell Insular d’Evissa’s plans to eradicate afterhours clubs on the island.
Whilst much has been publicised about Ibiza’s Council’s new law banning the opening of clubs between 6am and noon, the suggestion that afternoon clubbing might be banned as well is news to us.
Very bad news.
Because, whilst Ibiza’s club scene can survive without the early morning afterhours parties, it is almost certain that the island will suffer tremendously if it loses its most unique selling point - dancing in the sun.
Space, DC10 and Bora Bora would be hugely affected.
Would it be worth going to Ibiza if afternoon clubbing was banned as well?
