How do you use Ableton Live?
17 July, 2008 | 10.49AM- Section: Music News Topics: Technology
Our friends over at Create Digital Music have started a “non-scientific visual survey” to try and discover the best way to use Ableton Live for live performances.
“Lots of people play violins. If you pick up a violin for the first time – whether it was an expensive instrument or not – it’ll sound really awful,” writes Create Digital Music’s Peter Kirn.
“So, given that music played on laptops is still music, it seems reasonable to assume that it’ll take practice, and that not everyone will do things the same way.”
The CDM crew are asking for Ableton Live users to take a screenshot of an Ableton session that best sums up how they use the software, and to send it to ‘pictures (at) createdigitalmusic.com’ or add it to their to their Flickr group, http://www.flickr.com/groups/cdmlivesets.
Perhaps they’ll find some interesting and unique ways of using Ableton Live that will benefit the whole laptop performance community.
