Here’s one for anyone who may have gone home over the holidays only to discover that their old acquaintances are stranger than they remembered: ”Weird Friends” (Boysnoize Records), a wild hip-house collab between Berlin’s Housemeister and the Minnesota rapper P.O.S., of Rhymesayers and the Doomtree Collective. Acid house meets acid rock, with P.O.S. spitting fire over explosive breaks.

Remixes come from Obi Blanche, TWR72 and Brazil’s MixHell; rounding out the EP is a juke-flavored instrumental version entitled “Hirschkeule.”
